THERAPY IS A DIalogue

Rachael Toth, MA, MFT (she/her)

I am perpetually awestruck by the emergent possibilities in combinations; the energetic, creative, relational potential made in an interaction. In former professional lifetimes, I’ve played with combinations, studying the interaction of color, flavor, and social forces. As I am continually becoming- shaping and being shaped by interactions- my curiosity and ways of observing and influencing interactions transforms. Attuning to emergent possibility is a practice across all disciplines including therapy, mothering, friendship, learning, and writing. My resounding question in dialogues is, “What are we making together?”

…so you may be interested to know a bit about who you’ll talk with.

My lens is informed by my commitment to collaborative-dialogic practices and relational responsibility, agential realism, reproductive rights advocacy for all, my experience of synesthesia, radical imagination, and my intense affection for the creative process.

  • I hold an MA in Couple and Family Therapy and a certificate in Trauma Counseling from Antioch University New England. In addition to regular consultation, mentorship, and supervision with leaders in the systemic therapy field, I also hold formal training in the Gottman Method Levels I & II, DBT, and am currently in a year-long training of the Developmental Model.

As research and ways of talking about various topics constantly advance, I strive to attend, on average, two trainings every month. Please click HERE to review a select list of the most recent conferences and trainings I have participated in.
